Launch ‘JSP Løjt’

On October 1st the first vessel built according our ‘GROOT 5200XL’ design was launched. Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry in China launched the vessel ‘JSP Løjt’ for the owners Jebsen Shipping Partners.  Click here to see a movie of the launch.

The design is the result of a joint research and development cooperation between Toepfer Transport and Groot Ship Design which started four years ago. 

‘JSP Løjt’ is the first from a series of 14 vessels. The shipyard is at the same time building a series of enlarged vessels of the same design, GROOT 5900XL, for Navalis. 

Today the GROOT XL series covers a range of 5200 / 5900 / 6600 and 7300 DWT vessels, minibulkers according a standardised design, available for owners and shipyards. With the GROOT XL series we can contribute to the current fleet renewal process for minibulkers, MPVs and shortsea vessels.
